MFFA
The Mpumalanga Fly Fishing Association (MFFA) is the Provincial Federation of Fly Fishing in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. While we aim to promote the sport of fly fishing with unity amongst all anglers in the interest of protecting our piscatorial pursuit, we also facilitate the competitive trial events for representative selection to our association as MFFA to compete in the various National Championship facets being Masters, Senior, Ladies and Youth which is hosted on an annual basis.
We are one of 9 provincial federations affiliated to the South African Fly Fishing Association (SAFFA), being the National Body of Fly Fishing in South Africa. SAFFA oversees the hosting of the National Championships, as well as the National Selection process for team representation to World & Commonwealth Championships.
Our events are social giving members a platform to have fun, but also to grow & compete with the aim of developing skills which is passed through our structured approach from member to member with the support of various Provincial and National anglers as mentors.
Notwithstanding our pioneering spirit, we operate predominantly in the Blyde river system close to Pilgrims Rest and the Highlands Meander with the village of Dullstroom arguably known as the epicentre of fly fishing in South Africa.
